Zenith Bank marks IWD 2026 with March 9 seminar on women’s leadership

Zenith Bank Plc will commemorate the 2026 International Women’s Day with a leadership-focused seminar scheduled for March 9 in Lagos, as part of its sustained commitment to advancing women’s empowerment and inclusive growth.
The annual International Women’s Day (IWD) Seminar will take place at The Civic Centre, Victoria Island, convening accomplished women and progressive leaders from business, governance, technology, the creative sector and social impact spaces.
This year’s programme aligns with the global IWD theme, “Give to Gain,” and carries the bank’s own theme, “Take It, You Own It.” The concept highlights a dual responsibility: institutions must create equitable systems and enabling environments, while women are encouraged to boldly seize opportunities, own their value and lead with confidence.
The 2026 edition builds on the momentum of previous gatherings, including the 2025 seminar themed “Winning On All Fronts.” Over time, Zenith Bank’s IWD initiatives have evolved into platforms for meaningful dialogue, mentorship and collaboration around gender equity and professional advancement.
The Group Managing Director of the bank, Adaora Umeoji, who will deliver the welcome address, described International Women’s Day as a moment for intentional action. She noted that sustainable progress depends on deliberate institutional support as well as the courage of women to step forward and shape outcomes.
According to the organisers, the seminar will feature keynote speeches, panel discussions, interactive sessions and creative interludes designed to spark conversations around leadership insight, wellbeing, collaboration and long-term impact.
Beyond celebration, the event is positioned as a strategic platform to inspire practical steps toward equity and shared prosperity.
By aligning with the global “Give to Gain” call and amplifying its “Take It, You Own It” message, Zenith Bank reaffirmed its resolve to champion environments where women’s potential is recognised, strengthened and fully realised.
