The Flying Eagles of Nigeria continue to send warning signals to other teams ahead of the forthcoming FIFA U-20 World Cup billed for New Zealand by whipping Freiburg’s U-23 team 4-1 yesterday to round up their friendly games in their tour of Germany
The Nigerian team, preparing for the World Youth Championship in Germany, comprehensively won their last two friendly games, and made ita 100% record with their latest win.
They had earlier defeated Hoffeinham 5-2 and Nurnburg 5-0.
The match at the SudwestPark training ground, standby striker, Alhassan Ibrahim continue to enhance his chances of being used as a replacement in case any of the forwards get injured, as for the second game running by scoring one of the goals for Manu Garba’s team.
His goal was the separating point between the Flying Eagles and the Freiburg Under-23 side at halftime.
Freiburg drew level a few minutes into the second half, but Saviour Godwin and Ifeanyi Matthew restored the Flying Eagles’ two-goal cushion to demoralise any hope of a comeback for the Germans.
Usman Sale, another player not in the coach’s final 21 man team, put the game beyond the reach of the Germans with a fourth for the Flying Eagles to hand them another comprehensive victory.
