Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State on Thursday dissolved caretaker committees in the state’s 23 local government areas.

A statement in Port Harcourt by Wike’s media adviser, Opunabo Inko-Tariah, said 22 local government caretaker committees in the state were dissolved with immediate effect and asked them “to handover to the various Heads of Local Government Administrations.”

“The statutory three months tenure for caretaker committees expires today,” stated the governor.
