Oyo APC governorship aspirant urges prayers for end to insecurity during Ramadan, Lent

Prince Kola Asatola Asanike, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Oyo State governorship aspirant, has called on both Muslims and Christians to use the concurrent periods of Ramadan and Lent to pray for an end to the rising insecurity across Nigeria.
In a statement made available to journalists in Ibadan, the state capital, Asanike described the overlap of the two religious observances as a divine creation, urging Nigerians to seek divine intervention for the country’s challenges.
“The coincidence of Ramadan and Lent is a creation of the Almighty God. Nigerians should use this period to pray for an end to insecurity and for the success of our leaders as they tackle the country’s problems,” he said.
He further encouraged prayers for the success of President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which aims to improve the welfare of Nigerians. “I urge Nigerians to pray for President Bola Tinubu’s administration. Both Islam and Christianity encourage adherents to pray for their leaders. We should pray that they continue to lead us rightly, instilling unity and confidence in the citizenry,” Asanike added.
In addition, the APC chieftain prayed for the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja Arusa 1, wishing him continued good health. “I must use this period to pray for our father, the Olubadan of Ibadanland, His Royal Majesty, Oba Rasheed Adewolu Ladoja. May God continue to grant him good health as he reigns over the city,” he said.
