Ogun govt resumes asphalting of Toyin-Giwa Hercules Road to enhance economic activities 

 

The Ogun State government has commenced the asphalting of Toyin-Giwa Hercules Road, in Ifo Constituency II, as part of the administration’s commitment towards boosting economic activities of the area.

The Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, Engr. Ade Akinsanya, during an inspection tour of the area, expressed satisfaction with the progress made and reiterated the government‘s commitment to quality and equitable development.

He added that the project which includes, Denro-Ishashi-Akute Road, aligns with Governor Abiodun’s directive to accelerate the delivery of strategic road projects, which has significantly improved transportation in the region.

Engr. Akinsanya remarked that several key projects were being executed across all Senatorial Districts of the state, such as Atan-Lusada-Agbara, Ajuwon-Akute, Bible College-Itoki, Abeokuta-Sango-Ota, Awokoya in Ijebu Ode, Adesanolu in Mowe, and the Afon Palace-Ajerogun Ilara Road.

He pointed out that the ongoing projects were designed to reduce travel time, boost economic activities and enhance accessibility for residents, saying the construction of the 1.6km Odolewu-Ladesi-Isiwo Road in Ijebu Ode Local Government Area of Ogun East Senatorial District is progressing steadily.

Akinsanya further said that the road project has comprehensive drainages and asphalt surfacing and is expected to ease transportation, attract investments and stimulate economic growth in the area.

“These projects represent more than just infrastructure; they symbolise progress, connectivity and a commitment to improving the standard of living for our people,” he said.

Engr. Akinsanya also appealed to residents to cooperate with contractors during the construction phases, while assuring them of transparency and adherence to global best practices in project delivery.
