Ego-tripping, coincidence or design?

Nigerian celebrities are ready to go to any length to belong. Yes, they always want to be relevant and compete amongst themselves as well as show-off in the society. And the trend is the bandwagon effect that trails any new fashion or whatever is in vogue.

When the GSM first came for instance, handsets were used to show class. It still does but the different applications being doled out almost on daily basis seem to be the in-thing now.

From Blackberry to Twitter, Youtube, Whatsapp, etc, Instagram seems to be the discerning choice. And once acquired, the modus operandi is simple: they start bombarding everybody willy-nilly.

What they do with the phones and their applications is what they do with state-of-the-art autos and houses even as those who can’t afford them gnash teeth and go into hiding. So the ego tripping is encompassing.

Every day, they spend a lot of quality time on it, especially this dry period that everybody is still waiting for ‘change’ to begin a fresh journey. Who says Nollywood is not glamorous?
