Nigerian equity market sustains recovery, rallies 0.54%

The Nigeria equity market extended the gains recorded on Friday as bargain-hunting propelled it to rise 0.54 per cent on Tuesday.
The All Share Index (ASI) increased by 141.90 absolute points, representing a growth of 0.54 per cent to close at 26,456.39 points. Similarly, the Market Capitalization gained N69.08 billion representing an increase of 0.54 per cent, to close at N12.88 trillion.
CCNN emerged the top gainer, while IKEJAHOTEL emerged as top loser.
Volume traded decreased by 12.52% from 432.474 million to 378.346 million, while the total value of stock traded increased by 28.17% from ₦5.579 billion to ₦7.150 billion in 4,798 deals.
The Financial Services sector led the activity chart with 284.397 million shares exchanged for ₦3.609 billion. Consumer Goods came next with 44.036 million shares
traded for ₦2.112 billion, Conglomerates, Industrial Goods, Ict sectors followed in that order on the activity chart.
