The equity market on Friday closed on a bearish note as the All Share Index depreciated by 0.13% to settle at 49,475.42 points from the previous close of 49,540.48 points.

The Market Capitalisation declined by 0.13% to close at N26.686 trillion from the previous close of N26.721 trillion, thereby shedding N35 billion.

An aggregate of 107.5 million units of shares were traded in 3,303 deals, valued at N1.150 billion.

The Market Breadth closed negative as 9 equities appreciated in their share prices against 14 equities that declined in their share prices.

Percentage Gainers

Nem Insurance led other gainers with 8.97% growth to close at N5.59 from the previous close of N5.13.

Academy Press, JAPAULGOLD and CADBURY among other gainers also grew their share prices by 6.80%, 3.70% and 3.00% respectively.

Regency Alliance led other price decliners as it shed 7.41% of its share price to close at N0.25 from the previous close of N0.27.

Unity Bank, ACCESSCORP and Cornerstone among other price decliners also shed their share prices by 6.98% and 5.14% and 4.76% respectively.

Volume Drivers

FBNH traded about 12 million units of its shares in 194 deals, valued at about N120.7 million.

Zenith Bank traded about 12 million units of its shares in 386 deals, valued at N235.9 million.

ACCESSCORP traded about 11 million units of its shares in 118 deals, valued at N98 million.
