Court orders arrest of Mercy Chinwo’s manager over alleged $345,000 fraud

 

The Federal High Court in Lagos has ordered the arrest of Ezekiel Onyedikachukwu, manager of gospel singer Mercy Chinwo, over claims that he misused $345,000 belonging to her.

Justice Alexander Owoeye gave the order on Thursday after the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) filed a request. The EFCC said Onyedikachukwu took money from Chinwo’s royalties and event earnings without giving her share.

The anti-corruption agency explained that their attempts to arrest Onyedikachukwu had failed, forcing them to seek the court’s help.

The court has set January 24, 2025, for Onyedikachukwu’s arraignment. If he cannot be found, the EFCC plans to issue a public notice declaring him wanted.
