Ogun SSG Conferred with FICA by National Institute of Credit Administration

The Secretary to the Ogun State Government, Mr. Tokunbo Talabi, has been conferred with the prestigious Fellow of the National Institute of Credit Administration (FICA) in recognition of his contributions to policymaking and entrepreneurship development.

The conferment ceremony, held at the MUSON Centre, Onikan, Lagos, attracted distinguished professionals, policymakers, financial experts and captains of industry from across the country.

Speaking after receiving the honour, Talabi expressed appreciation to the leadership and Governing Council of the National Institute of Credit Administration for the recognition, describing it as a call to greater service.

He noted that the award placed an added responsibility on him as a public official to continue adding value to governance, particularly in promoting accountability and prudent management of public resources.

According to him, building a robust credit culture would enhance transparency, encourage responsible borrowing and stimulate investment across Nigeria.

“As government officials, we must continue to support frameworks that strengthen financial systems and promote accountability. Sound credit management is essential to national development,” he said.

Talabi further stated that under the leadership of Governor Dapo Abiodun, the Ogun State Government remains committed to policies that promote fiscal responsibility, financial inclusion and institutional reforms aimed at improving economic stability.

He also commended the President and Chairman of the Governing Council of the Institute, Dr. (Mrs.) Markie Idowu, for her dedication to advancing professional standards in credit administration.

In her remarks, Idowu pledged to uphold the principles, ethics and professional standards of the Institute, assuring members and stakeholders of her commitment to strengthening institutional integrity and promoting best practices in credit management nationwide.
