Trump threatens Grammy host Trevor Noah with law suit over Epstein remarks

President Donald Trump of the United States has threatened legal action against Trevor Noah, host of the 68th Grammy Awards, following a controversial joke linking the US leader to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
The comment came after Noah congratulated Billie Eilish for winning Song of the Year for Wildflower. He quipped: “Wow. That’s a Grammy that every artist wants, almost as much as Trump wants Greenland,” referencing the president’s past interest in acquiring the Arctic territory.
Noah then added a pointed remark: “Which makes sense because, since Epstein’s gone, he needs a new island to hang out with Bill Clinton.”
Trump responded on his Truth Social platform, calling the Grammys “the WORST and virtually unwatchable” and dismissing Noah’s comments as “false and defamatory.”
“I have never been to Epstein Island, nor anywhere close, and until tonight’s false and defamatory statement, have never been accused of being there,” Trump said. He also labeled Noah a “total loser” and threatened, “I’ll be sending my lawyers to sue this poor, pathetic, talentless dope of an M.C.… Get ready, Noah, I’m going to have some fun with you!”
Noah, a South African comedian, has hosted the Grammys six times and announced this year would be his final appearance. He has generally avoided political commentary in previous broadcasts.
Trump’s threat comes amid ongoing scrutiny over his past ties to Epstein. Recently, over three million documents were released that referenced several high-profile figures, including Trump, Elon Musk, Bill Gates, Bill Clinton, and former Prince Andrew, reigniting public attention on Epstein’s network and Trump’s past associations in Florida and New York.
