The Institute of Directors Nigeria (IoD Nigeria) is set to host the bi-annual Executive Committee meeting of the African Corporate Governance Network (ACGN) in Lagos, Nigeria from Monday 20th to Wednesday 22nd July 2015 at the Eko Hotel and Suites.

The Director General of IoD Nigeria, Mr Victor Banjo made this known in Lagos.

He stated that ACGN is a network of Institutes of Directors and similar institutions, committed to enhancing effective corporate governance and ethical leadership throughout Africa, and is currently present in 16 key African countries representing over 16,000 directors and senior executives in Africa.

The Chief Executives and representatives of ACGN member organisations will be in Nigeria for the 3-day event which will feature a business forum with Professor Deon Rossouw, CEO of the Ethics Institute of South Africa, who will be the Guest Speaker at the event.

Mr Victor Banjo said the choice of Professor Rossouw was informed by his extensive training and consulting experience in the area of Business Ethics and Corporate Governance.

Mr Banjo further stated that Professor Rossouw has consistently shown that there is an intimate link between good governance and ethics.

Ethics provides the foundation on which sustainable and responsible corporations are built.

Professor Rossouw who will speak on “Governing the ethics performance of organisations” has written several books on business ethics and published in leading international journals.  He was the Founding President of the Business Ethics Network of Africa (BEN-Africa) and served as President of the International Society of Business, Economics and Ethics (ISBEE).

He served as a member of the Research Team for the Second King Report on Corporate Governance, and was a member of the Sustainability Committee of the Third King Report on Corporate Governance for South Africa.
