Akinleye felicitates Christians at Easter

As Muslims begin the holy month of Ramadan 1447 AH and Christians observe Lent, Chief of Staff to the Osun State Governor, Alhaji Kazeem Akinleye, has called on all faithful to embrace unity and renew their faith for the progress of the state. He also urged them to pray for the success of Governor Ademola Adeleke’s administration.

In his goodwill message, Akinleye highlighted the deeper significance of fasting and prayer, describing the period as an opportunity for believers to strengthen faith, cultivate compassion, and foster harmony within their communities. He encouraged patience, generosity, and gratitude throughout the holy months.

He offered special prayers for Governor Adeleke, asking Almighty Allah to grant him continued wisdom, strength, and success in leadership, while also expressing hope for the governor’s re-election to a second term and sustained development in Osun State.

“As we welcome the blessed month of Ramadan and the holy month of Lent, I extend my sincere greetings to Muslims and Christians across the globe,” Akinleye said. “This sacred period of reflection and devotion reminds us of the importance of humility, compassion, and gratitude. May it bring peace, blessings, and spiritual growth to all.”

He further urged believers to use the period to deepen faith, seek forgiveness, and support those in need. “May our acts of worship be accepted, our hearts purified, and our prayers answered. May Allah grant us sound health, prosperity, and success in all that we do.”

Akinleye cited the Holy Qur’an (Surah Al-Baqarah 2:186), emphasizing God’s closeness to those who pray:

“And when My servants ask you concerning Me, indeed I am near. I answer the call of the supplicant when he calls upon Me…”

He concluded by praying for Governor Adeleke’s continued accomplishments and divine favor for his re-election. “May this Ramadan illuminate our hearts and homes with peace, harmony, and mercy. Ramadan Kareem.”
