Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke on Friday assured the people of ilesa that Ilesa University, the long awaited institution in the community, has come to stay.

The governor also assured the people that the water project contract will be completed after due process is enforced.

Governor Adeleke stated this during working visit and facility tour of the University on Friday.

The governor, who said the idea of converting the Osun State College of Education to University of Ilesa was his brainchild, at it was as part of his 2018 electioneering campaign manifestoes.

He added that the review committee was set up to look into the grey areas of the law establishing the school.

Governor Adeleke reiterated his love for the Ijesa, stressing that the university would be a world class citadel of learning by the time it becomes fully operational.

On the Iesa water project, the governor said the shoddy contractual agreement with the handler, coupled with the contamination of the water source necessitated the temporal suspension of the project for necessary actions to guarantee the safety of the end users .

Quoting from the summary report of the University of Ilesa review committee, the chairman, Professor Taiwo Ashaolu said the committee recommended the dissolution of the Governing Council and termination of the appointment principal officers sworn-in by the immediate past administration.

The committee also recommended automatic transmission of the existing academic and non-academic staff of the defunct college of education to the new university as well as concurrent running of the NCE program and Degree programs to allow undergraduate NCE students complete their programme.
