Obi allies Yesufu, Rhodes-Vivour, Yunusa named to ADC registration committee ahead

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has constituted a 20-member Membership, Revalidation, Mobilisation and Registration Committee as part of efforts to strengthen its internal structures ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The committee was inaugurated on Tuesday in Abuja by the party’s National Chairman, David Mark, who said the exercise would help the ADC build a credible, verifiable and nationwide membership database.

Former aide to the late President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua, Kashim Imam, was appointed chairman of the committee, while activist and Peter Obi loyalist Aisha Yesufu was named deputy chairman. Sekonte Davies will serve as secretary.

Other members of the committee include Senator Nurudeen Abatemi; Hon. Yomi Arokodare; Remi Fanibe, MS; Adljat Ojelade; Hon. (Mrs.) Abeje Egwa; Hon. Abas Anas Adamu; Dr Tanko Yunusa; Paul Lawrence Okorie; Dr (Mrs.) Esther Irebo; Hon. Abdullahi Maibasira; Sir Stanley Ekezie; Prof. Festus Arunaye; Jibrin Sabo Keana; Hon. Mina Horsfall; Hon. Shehu Mohammed Koko; Chief Gbazuagu Nneke Gbazuagu; and Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour.

Speaking at the inauguration, Mark said the committee had been given a critical national assignment, including harmonising existing membership records, eliminating inconsistencies and submitting a 30-day interim report to the party’s National Working Committee.

He stressed that a strong and well-documented membership base was the foundation of any serious political party, noting that it determines legitimacy, reach and electoral success.

“As we look ahead to future political engagements, it has become imperative to revalidate our existing members, register new ones, strengthen our grassroots presence, and harmonise our membership records nationwide,” Mark said.
