Nollywood veteran, Columbus Irisoanga alias Igbudu is dead

Columbus Irisoanga, a veteran Nollywood actor and senior lecturer at the University of Port Harcourt, has passed away.
Known for his role as the chief priest “Igbudu” in the 2001 movie Isakaba, Irisoanga taught students in the Theatre Arts department at UniPort where he also earned his bachelor’s, master’s, and PhD degrees.
His death was confirmed by actress Hilda Dokubo via her Instagram page on Thursday.
She wrote, “Our uncle Coli @colu_mbusirisoanga has gone to be with the Lord. Ikoli eh dein na mu.
“There can’t be a shortage of Angels in heaven that the few here are called home like this na! This one is heavy on Uniport, Rivers State, Nollywood.”
He was born and raised in Okrika, Rivers State, and was an indigene of the state.
Irisoanga was married with children.
His passing, coming days after the death of another Nollywood star, Pat Ugwu, marks a significant loss for the Nollywood community.
