NFF set to unveil Oliseh as Eagles coach

LUKMAN OLOGUNRO
The Nigeria Football Federation is set to unveil Sunday Oliseh as the new head coach of the Super Eagles after talks with Federation’s boss, Amaju Pinnick in London last week.
Oliseh, who is expected to arrive Nigeria on Tuesday, will be unveilled in Abuja ‘by Wednesday or Thursday‘ according to NFF spokesman, Ademola Olajire.
“Everything is set, we have had fruitful talks with him (Oliseh) in London and we are looking forward to his unvelling on Wednesday or Thursday,” Olajire said in a live radio programme on Saturday.
Olajire expressed confidence that Oliseh will succeed in his new task playing down his widely-known temperament which many believed will not make the relationship last.
He has the temperament to work with everybody especially when you consider that Amodu Shaibu is part of the team he will be working with. Amodu was his coach when he was playing and I know they will have mutual respect for each other.
Oliseh was widely believed to have led a players’ revolt against the coaches, and the NFF at the 2002 Nations Cup in Mali which led to the axing of some of the regular players to that year’s World Cup but Olajire said the NFF and Oliseh can work together without hitches.
“In Mali, I don’t know what happened there so I cant blame him for that,” he said.
