The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Secretary General, Mohammed Sanusi, has described as rumour the purported interest in Dutch coach Hesterine de Reus for the Super Falcons.
Unconfirmed reports have it that the football house is keen to hire the former Matildas of Australia coach to tutor the six-time African champions.
The football house relieved Falcons head coach Edwin Okon of his job upon return from the World Cup while assistant, Christopher Danjuma was asked to take charge in the interim.
Sanusi said he cannot see himself responding to a matter that is not tabled as official discourse.
“No, I cannot confirm or react to rumour so there is absolutely nothing to say in that matter, I don’t know anything about it,” Sanusi said.
Sanusi was non-committal to whether the NFF has intentions, either now or near future, to engage a foreign coach for the Super Falcons.
“I can’t answer that question now, maybe some other days but right now I do not know,” said Sanusi.
The Falcons have a date with Equatorial Guinea on July 18 in Abuja for the first fixture, third round qualification match for the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
