LPPC elevates 68 lawyers, one academic to Senior Advocate of Nigeria

The Legal Practitioners’ Privileges Committee (LPPC) has approved the elevation of 68 legal practitioners and one academic to the prestigious rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN).

The decision was taken at the committee’s 174th plenary session held on Thursday in Abuja and chaired by the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun.

The announcement was made in a statement issued by the Chief Registrar of the Supreme Court and Secretary of the LPPC, Kabir Akan.

According to the committee, the successful candidates were listed in order of their seniority at the Bar.

Under the academic category, Prof. Nnamdi Onyeka Obiaraeri was also conferred with the rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria.

The SAN rank is Nigeria’s highest honour for legal practitioners and is reserved for lawyers and academics who have distinguished themselves through excellence in advocacy, legal scholarship and contributions to the development of the legal profession.
