League matches to be on Television.

FEMI FABUNMI
The 1st Vice President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Mr.
Seyi Akinwunmi has said that the Federation is already making plans to
have all matches in the country’s apex football league to be shown
live on television.
Akinwumi, who was speaking against the backdrop of allegation of sharp
practices by officiating officials, explained that live telecast of
all league matches would reduce malpractices by the match officials.
Meanwhile General Secretary of the NFF, Mohammed Sanusi has assured
that anyone found guilty in the alleged match fixing in the Week 9
match of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) will be
punished.
Sanusi, who gave the assurance at a press conference at the Abuja
National Stadium yesterday, said that the allegation will not be swept
under the carpet, as an investigative panel had already been set up to
look into the allegation.
According to Sanusi: “We will get to the bottom of this issue. I
promise you, the outcome of the investigation will be made known.”
Football governing body, FIFA had questioned the performance of the
officials in the game between FC Ifeanyi Ubah and Sharks of
Port-Harcourt and has allegedly instructed NFF to investigate same.
Similarly, the Chairman of League Management Company (LMC), Shehu
Dikko said: “We at the league have taken it the allegation seriously
and if anyone is found guilty, he will be punished.”
He however declined to give details of the investigation, maintaining
that such action could undermine the investigation process.
While noting that the LMC was making efforts to improve the league,
Dikko enjoined the mass media to help in projecting the league in good
light.
