Federal, state govts should take welfare of Nigerians as priority – Prophet Omoyele

Both the Federal and state governments in Nigeria have been called upon to make the welfare of the citizens as priority.
The call was made by the General overseer of the Christ Love Family Ministry (LOFAM), Aba-Layan, Akala Express Way Ibadan, Oyo State capital, Prophet Victor Omoyele, during the Christmas caroll service of the church, where youths gathered to celebrate and rendered songs.
He said that Nigerian leaders should now concentrate on nation building and empowerments of the youths who are the tomorrow of the country.
He lamented the rate of crimes and other vices in the country which he said have dented the image of Nigeria in the eyes of other countries of the world, despite the fact that the country, is called the giant of Africa.
He pointed out that any nation that shuns the welfare of its people and abandoned the future and empowerment of the youths, would be in great danger, and instead of building great men, it would be breeding criminals.
Prophet Omoyele argued that, Nigeria has every thing at its disposal, to build up great men which in future could make it greater than what it is, at the moment.
He said that those at the helms of affairs in Nigeria should not be self centered and shun corrupt practices and embrace good governance, that would make Nigerians have confidence in them and which would encourage the youths, to have sense of belonging that would make them proud, that they have a country.
He further argued that lack of adequate planning by Nigerian leaders, has been the bane of the country and encouraging the brain drain, ” being experinced in Nigeria today”.
“As far as i am concerned, Nigeria is designed by God to be great but lack of good planning, bad leaderships over the years and high level corruption everywhere, brought the country to its present situation and it is not too late for us to have a rethink and as well chat a new course.”
“Nigeria is a country well blessed in many ways both mineral, and human resources, but it is disheartened that we allow all these potentials to waste away, due to lack of proper planning for our future. If those countries where our youths are running to for greener pastures are not properly planned with enabling facilities, that have made them great, they would have no where to run to.
“I believed that Nigeria could still be governed in a way that would bring out all its potentials that would make people all over the world to come here for their greener pastures as well.”
He pointed out that even with the present situation of Nigeria, “foreigners here, who tap into our potentials are prospering while we the owner of the potentials are wallowing in poverty”.
This trend, according to Prophet Omoyele, must be changed.
He said, “we should be the beneficiaries of our God given resources and potentials and not outsiders and that is why we have to start thinking of empowering our youths who are very smart and full of ideas, especially, these days of the world’s technological know how, which they are not found wanting and well endowed, to compete with their counterparts anywhere in the world but all they need is encouragement and support from the government, that should provide the facilities needed to compete favourably.”
He also said that what the country needs now is good atmospheres that would encourage industrialization, which would also enable foreign investors to come to Nigeria as well as Nigerians with the capacity to invest heavily, without any fear of molestations. “Because if the youths are gainfully empowered with jobs on their hands, their minds would be free from crimes.”
The prophet advised that what could ease the present food scarcity in Nigeria is for the State governments, especially, those in the South West, to start investing heavily in agriculture.
“If people get food to eat poverty would be reduced and agriculture as far as i am concerned is an avenue to provide mass employments for the people.”
He lamented the recent incidents that occured in Ibadan, Abuja and the Eastern part of Nigeria. saying “it has never been this worse for Nigerians to rush after stipends especially food stuffs but because there is hunger in the land, people have no choice than to rush to where they would get succor”
According to Prophet Omoyele, “there is nothing bad in what those I will call good samaritans did to help the people but to guide future occurence, there should be proper and adequate planning, while the security agencies should be invited to moderate the events.
He Sympathized with the families of the children who lost their lives, and called for their souls to rest in peace.
