Cavista founder Olajide eyes transformative partnership with Babcock University

Babcock University is set to deepen its engagement with global industry players as Mr. Niyi John Olajide, founder of Cavista, signalled readiness for a transformative partnership with the institution.

Olajide, who also serves as Chief Executive Officer of Axxess in the United States, met with the university’s leadership to explore areas of collaboration aimed at strengthening innovation, research and enterprise development.

Receiving him, the President/Vice Chancellor, Prof. Afolarin Olutunde Ojewole, commended Olajide for his willingness to support the university, describing his visit as both a privilege and a sacrifice.

According to Ojewole, the prospective partnership aligns with the university’s broader vision to reshape Nigeria’s educational landscape through strategic alliances with global industry leaders.

“Together we can change the educational landscape for which Babcock and Nigeria would be beneficiaries,” the Vice Chancellor said.

Beyond technology, Olajide’s investments span agriculture, tourism and the knowledge economy, as well as civic development initiatives. He reaffirmed his passion for Nigeria and expressed commitment to mobilising world-class resources to support Babcock’s growth ambitions.

“I am deeply passionate about Nigeria and black people and glad that we have opportunity to partner with Babcock,” he said, while praising the university’s advancement and development team.

The collaboration is expected to bridge academia and industry by leveraging Cavista’s global expertise and Olajide’s diversified investment network to create opportunities for students, faculty and the wider community.

Olajide’s relationship with the university dates back several years. In 2022, he delivered the commencement address at Babcock’s 20th undergraduate and 11th postgraduate convocation ceremony, underscoring his longstanding commitment to the institution’s vision.
