Call for resignation of Osun CoS “a melancholic tantrum” – Adeleke’s spokesperson

The recent call by the Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the resignation of Chief of Staff, Hon. Kazeem Akinleye, has been described as a “melancholic tantrum” by Governor Ademola Adeleke’s spokesperson, Mallam Olawale Rasheed.
Rasheed made the remark on Friday while reacting to the opposition party’s demand, saying it reflects the frustration of a political party being rejected both by the people and even by its own members.
He cited recent posts from APC supporters that highlight the widespread popularity of Governor Adeleke and suggest that the governor is well-positioned for re-election.
“The Osun APC is overwhelmed and in political depression, hence its obsession with key officials of the current administration, such as Chief of Staff Hon. Akinleye,” Rasheed said.
He praised Akinleye as an efficient Chief of Staff serving a multiple award-winning governor, noting that his competence is reflected in the administration’s impressive performance, recognized both locally and internationally.
“As head of all staff working for the governor, the Chief of Staff demonstrates mastery of governance processes, consensus-building skills, and adherence to due process. Like the governor, Hon. Akinleye is a visionary who resists any attempt to derail good governance in Osun State,” the spokesperson said.
Rasheed further credited Akinleye with safeguarding the state from financial mismanagement, adding, “No amount of blackmail can tarnish the reputation of integrity and service the Chief of Staff has built over the years.”
He also slammed the APC, saying, “Where the opposition failed, the Governor has succeeded. Mr. Governor’s approval rating is over 80 percent, while Osun APC’s disapproval rate has climbed to more than 85 percent. The party faces severe electoral punishment for inflicting hardship on the people, hijacking over N200 billion of LG funds, failing to apologize for its poor governance record, and consistently plotting to subvert the will of the people.”
