Asagba faults Biafra agitation

BARRY AGBANIGBI, Asaba
The Asagba of Asaba, Obi Chike Edozien, has chided the brains behind the agitations for Biafra nation, describing the process as faulty. He spoke in Asaba yesterday as part of the activities marking his 90th
Birthday celebration.
The Asagba of Asaba said that he desired a country where everybody have a sense of belonging as he claimed injustice smacks agitation for separation among the ethnic groups.
He said Nigeria with more than 200 tribes deserves to be a great country devoid of corruption.
On the national assembly leadership crisis, the royal father said President Muhammadu Buhari and the All Progressive Congress, APC, should display the change they advocated, insisting that as an apostle of change he has to bring progress to humanity.
HRM Edozien while explaining his position on the Asaba Capital Bill passed by the state House of Assembly said there is confusion between the capital and capital territory bill, saying that Asaba remains the capital of Delta State.
“As far as the constitution is concerned Asaba should be the focus and symbol of developments.”
‘’The kind of development has not come in Asaba. If Deltans accepts it resources should be put aside for its development. My happiness is that the agency has been accepted, resources have been put aside to do that. The bill on it has been passed to law’’.
Continuing, ‘’Ethnic divide in Delta must stop and be addressed. Ethnicity is a stumbling block. We want Delta to be the best but there were a lot of impediments. Because of injustice many forces acted as
impediment. Zoning has succeeded in Nigeria. Deltans must agree on the rotation as a symbol of unity to solve our problems, ’’ Asagba said.
