Adeleke raises alarm over alleged plot to destabilise Osun motor parks, directs police to act

By Sunday Oguntuyi, Osogbo

Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has raised the alarm over an alleged plot by some disgruntled elements to destabilise motor parks across the state, directing the Commissioner of Police to take immediate action to prevent any breakdown of law and order.

In a statement issued on Friday by his spokesperson, Mallam Olawale Rasheed, the governor alleged that certain individuals linked to opposition groups were planning to invade motor parks in various local government areas of the state.

Adeleke described the alleged move as a deliberate attempt to create chaos and undermine the prevailing peace in Osun.

The governor commended the relative peace and stability that have existed in motor parks across the state since 2023 and vowed not to allow a return to the era of violence and conflict at transport hubs.

According to him, intelligence reports have identified some opposition elements as being behind the alleged plan.

“Credible reports have linked some opposition elements to this untoward plan against the peace of Osun State. We already have all the details, and I warn them to abandon their sinister moves,” Adeleke said.

He disclosed that he had directed the Commissioner of Police to take proactive measures to forestall any attempt to disrupt public peace.

“I have further directed the Commissioner of Police to take pre-emptive action. The current peace and stability of our dear state must be sustained at all costs,” the governor added.
