Adeleke brokers peace in Ife PDP as stakeholders close ranks ahead of 2026

Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, at the weekend resolved internal disagreements within the Ife Federal Constituency chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), urging members to shun opposition-backed plots aimed at dividing the party.

The reconciliation meeting, held in Ile Ife, was attended by top government and party figures, including Deputy Governor Prince Kola Adewusi; Deputy Senate Minority Leader Senator Lere Oyewumi; State PDP Chairman Hon. Sunday Bisi; Secretary to the State Government Hon. Teslim Igbalaye; Chief of Staff to the Governor Hon. Kazeem Akinleye; Chairman of the Commissioners’ Forum Alhaji Ganiyu Olaoluwa; and other party stalwarts.

After exhaustive deliberations, stakeholders declared the rift settled and pledged unity as preparations intensify for the 2026 general election.

Governor Adeleke described the recent feud as a product of poor communication and external interference, commending leaders for their maturity and willingness to reconcile.

“Throughout this meeting, I have seen Ile Ife PDP truly united. From what I heard, the issues were largely due to communication gaps and the meddling of outsiders trying to divide us,” Adeleke said.

“Now that we understand the root cause, I urge everyone to return to the field. Our administration has delivered so much for Ifeland and more is still coming. Ile Ife remains PDP territory. Let’s sustain that momentum. I commend our elders, leaders, and grassroots operatives for their commitment to party victory,” he added.

Earlier, PDP State Chairman, Hon. Sunday Bisi, described the vote-of-no-confidence episode as a family matter that has now been amicably resolved.

“We are satisfied that all parties have demonstrated genuine love for the PDP. The resolution of this meeting is clear: statutory meetings for party mobilisation must resume immediately, and all members must strongly resist any act that could be misinterpreted as anti-party activity,” Bisi said.
