Please don’t mind what they call me on social media – Lai Mohammed begs senate

Former Minister of Information, Alhaji Lai Mohammed has pleaded with the Senate not to pay attention to what people call him on social media, as according to him, he is not a liar.
Mohammed who made the plea while introducing himself to the lawmakers as he was being screened on Tuesday, said he never bothered about what people call him on social media until his seven-year-old grand son approached him one day to ask him if it is true he was a liar.
“Please do not mind what they call me on social media. They call me all sorts of names there. And those are not true,” Mohammed said.
“Initially, I didn’t bother about what they called me on social media. But I was surprised when my grandchild who is only seven years old asked me if it is true that I am a liar.
“How do you begin to explain politics to a seven-year-old?” he wondered. “I told him they are the bad guys.”
The Kwara State born politician was the last ministerial nominee to be screened as the Senate concluded the screening exercise on Tuesday.
He was asked to take a bow.
