Man, 20, stabs elder brother to death over shirt, trousers in Kano

Halifa Hamza, a 20-year-old man, has stabbed his elder brother, Usman Hamza, to death with a pair of scissors in Kurna, Dala local government area, Kano State.

According to Daily Trust, the incident happened on Sunday after an argument erupted between the brothers.

Although residents of the area said the man was killed over a fight on a cat, their father cleared the air in an interview with Freedom Radio.

Alhaji Hamza explained that it was due to the younger brother wearing his elder brother’s shirt and trousers.

He said, “The elder brother that was killed (Usman) collected my motorcycle to go and inform his friends that we had organised Iftar for people so that they could come and eat. When he came back, he saw his younger brother with his shirt and trousers. He then asked why he did that, and from there a fight started.

“The younger one entered the house and brought a pair of scissors and stabbed the older brother on his chest and he died there.”
