Varsity matriculates 600 students, assures sustenance of excellence
The American University of Nigeria (AUN) on Monday matriculated 600 students into various degree programmes with a promise to promote excellence and integrity.
The president of the university, Dr Margee Ensign, made this known when he addressed students at a ceremony to mark the official opening of the 2015/2016 academic year.
According to him, 900 candidates applied for various degree programmes in the institution but 600 students qualified to be admitted into the institution.
“We shall continue to strive for excellence in the work we do and practise the highest ethical standards in our day-to-day business of the university.
“To our students, new and returning, we pledge our very best efforts to provide you a rigorous and world-class education.
“It is our expectation that you, through honest hard work, will make the most of this precious opportunity,” Margee said.
Margee, who described AUN as a premier development university in Africa, said the institution would continue to strive for the highest standard of excellence and integrity.
In their respective remarks, the vice president for Campus Life and Dean of Students, Prof. Mr Byron Bullock, and vice president for Academic Affairs, Prof. Charles Reith, welcomed the new students.
They urged them to make maximum use of the quality learning opportunities provided by the AUN.
