Trading remains upbeat on NGX as ASI closes 0.58% higher

Activities on the floor of Nigerian Exchange on Monday remained upbeat with the All-Share Index closing at 0.58% higher to settle at 163,244.69 compared with 162,298.08 it closed on Friday.

The market capitalisation grew by N745 billion to close at N104.521 trillion, from N103.766 trillion recorded in the previous session.

Aggregate volume and value of traded stocks settled at 1.15 billion units and N19 billion in 59,359 deals.

Market Breadth

Market Breadth closed positive as 49 stocks gained against 20 stocks that declined at the end of the day’s trading

Percentage Gainers

Redstar Express, ETRANZACT, UPDC, MCNICHOLS, RTBRISCOE and DEAPCAP led the gainers chart with 10.00% growth each to close higher above Friday’s close

Jaiz Bank, Veritas Kapitals and NCR also gained above their previous close by 9.96%, 9.94% and 9.94% respectively.

Champion Breweries tops the decliners’ list shedding 8.51% of its share price to close at N15.05 from N16.45.

EUNISELL, Ikeja Hotel and Guinea Insurance also shed 8.01%, 8.00% and 7.30% respectively.

Volume Drivers

Sovereign Trust Insurance traded about 307 million units of its shares in 213 deals, valued at about N1 billion.

Fidelity Bank traded about 158 million units of its shares in 902 deals, valued at about N3 billion.

Linkage Assurance traded about 118 million units of its shares in 241 deals, valued at about N214 million.
