A private firm, Transit Gas Nigeria Limited (TGNL), has donated modern educational facilities to St. John Anglican Primary School, Ilado, in Odogbolu Local Government Area of Ogun State as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility initiative.

The donated facilities include a block of six classrooms with offices and a store, toilets, tables and benches, generating sets, and boreholes aimed at improving the teaching and learning environment in the school.

Speaking during the commissioning and handover ceremony, the Chairman of the Ogun State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Evangelist Olalekan Ifede, said government alone could not meet the growing demand for quality education infrastructure across the state.

He commended TGNL for the intervention, describing it as a significant contribution towards enhancing learning conditions for pupils.

According to Ifede, the company had “written its name in the sands of time” through the project, urging the school management and the School-Based Management Committee to ensure proper maintenance of the facilities.

He also called on other corporate organisations, philanthropists, and public-spirited individuals to support the development of public primary schools across Ogun State.

In his goodwill message, the Gbegande of Ososa, Oba (Dr.) Adetoye Alatise, applauded the company’s commitment to community development and responsible corporate social responsibility practices.

Speaking on the project, the Managing Director of TGNL, Eromosele Agboighale, said the initiative reflected the company’s belief in education as a foundation for sustainable development.

Appreciating the company’s gesture, the Headteacher of the school, Mrs. Adesola Badmus, alongside two pupils, Sunday Paul and Abigail Jonah, expressed gratitude to the donor and pledged to ensure proper utilisation and maintenance of the facilities to improve academic performance.
