Stock market declines further by 0.08%
Monday’s trading activities on the floor of the Nigerian stock market closed bearish as the All Share Index declined by 0.08% to close at 143,614.61 points from the previous close of 143,722.62 points.
The Market Capitalisation declined by 0.08% to close at N91.346 trillion from the previous close of N91.415 trillion, thereby shedding N69 billion.
An aggregate of 694.8 million units of shares were traded in 24,041 deals, valued at about N28.7 billion.
The Market Breadth closed negative as 17 equities emerged as gainers against 26 equities that declined in their share prices.
Percentage Gainers
ETRAZANCT led other gainers with 9.06% growth to close at N14.45 from the previous close of 13.25.
International Energy Insurance, MCNICHOLS and C & I Leasing among other gainers also grew their share prices by 8.49%, 7.00% and 5.47% respectively.
Percentage Losers
NPF microfinance Bank led other price decliners as it sheds 7.85% to close at N2.70 from the previous close of N2.93.
Prestige Assurance and Sterling Bank among other price decliners also shed their share prices by 7.48% and 6.94% respectively.
Volume Drivers
GTCO traded about 204 million units of its shares in 973 deals, valued at N17 billion.
Zenith Bank traded about 35 million units of its shares in 468 deals, valued at N1.3 billion.
Fidelity Bank traded about 132 million units of its shares in 588 deals, valued at N2.5 billion.
