Spain booked their place in the 2026 FIFA World Cup final with a commanding 2-0 victory over France in Tuesday’s semi-final at Dallas Stadium, producing a composed and clinical display to end Les Bleus’ hopes of a third consecutive World Cup final appearance.

Luis de la Fuente’s side took the lead in the 22nd minute after teenage sensation Lamine Yamal was brought down in the penalty area by Lucas Digne. Captain Mikel Oyarzabal stepped up and calmly converted the resulting penalty to put Spain 1-0 ahead.

Spain doubled their advantage in the 58th minute with a superb team move. Dani Olmo exchanged passes with Pedro Porro, whose precise finish beat the French goalkeeper to make it 2-0 and effectively seal Spain’s place in the final.

France, led by stars Kylian Mbappé, Ousmane Dembélé, and Michael Olise, struggled to break down Spain’s disciplined defence. Spain controlled possession, remained organised at the back, and comfortably protected their lead until the final whistle to record yet another clean sheet in an impressive tournament campaign.
