Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Ward Congress Appeal Committee in Ogun State, Philip Shaibu, has commended party leaders in the state for conducting a peaceful and hitch-free ward congress, disclosing that no petition has been received from aggrieved members since the exercise.

Shuaib made the disclosure while addressing journalists at the APC Secretariat in Iyana-Mortuary, Abeokuta, following the ward congress held on February 18, 2026.

He described the exercise as orderly and conducted in strict compliance with party guidelines across all wards in the state.

“The Ogun State APC ward congresses conducted on February 18, 2026, were very peaceful and followed the party’s guidelines,” he said. “As we speak, we have not received a single petition from any aggrieved member or group.”

According to him, the absence of formal complaints reflects the level of transparency and internal cohesion demonstrated during the process.

Shuaib also commended the leadership of the All Progressives Congress in Ogun State for ensuring a smooth exercise. He gave special recognition to the State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, and other elected leaders for their roles in maintaining peace and unity before, during and after the congress.

He noted that cooperation among party stakeholders contributed significantly to the success of the exercise and urged members to sustain the prevailing calm as the party moves to the next phase of its internal electoral process.

Shuaib appealed to party faithful to replicate the same spirit of sportsmanship and discipline in the forthcoming local government congress scheduled to hold tomorrow.

“We appeal to Ogun APC leaders to ensure that the local government congress is conducted in the same peaceful and orderly manner as the ward congress,” he stated.
