The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the forthcoming Osun State governorship election, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, popularly known as AMBO, has congratulated Christians in Osun State, Nigeria and across the world on the occasion of this year’s Easter celebration.
Oyebamiji described Easter as a period of sober reflection for Christians, commemorating the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ after the 40-day Lenten fasting.
In a statement made available to journalists on Friday in Osogbo, the APC candidate called for continued peaceful coexistence and unconditional love among residents of the state.
He noted that the resurrection of Jesus Christ symbolises victory over sin and death, urging citizens to reflect on the significance of the season by showing love, compassion and support for one another.
“Jesus Christ conquered death through His resurrection, demonstrating His power over sin and offering eternal life to all who believe in Him. This calls for deep reflection on the meaning of the season by being our brother’s keeper and extending hands of fellowship to one another during and after the celebration,” he said.
Oyebamiji also urged the people of Osun State, particularly Christians, to remain steadfast in their commitment to electing a progressive government under the platform of the APC in the August 15, 2026 governorship election.
He assured residents of his readiness to run an inclusive, participatory and people-oriented administration if elected governor, stressing that all faiths would be carried along in the governance of the state.
According to him, an APC-led government in the state would work within the provisions of the Constitution to strengthen unity, peace, love, stability and cohesion among adherents of different religions.
“On behalf of my family, I warmly rejoice with our Christian brothers and sisters across the state and beyond on the occasion of this year’s Easter celebration. Easter is a principal festival for Christians across the world as it commemorates the resurrection of Jesus Christ and represents a period of sober reflection and renewed hope.
“As we celebrate this year’s Easter, I urge us all to reflect on the past, evaluate the present and look to the future with faith and strong belief. This is a time to extend hands of fellowship to one another and bring smiles to the faces of the needy.
“This celebratory period calls for renewed hope, stronger devotion to God and greater commitment to service to humanity. I pray that God will spare our lives to witness many more prosperous years on earth,” Oyebamiji said.
He wished Christians a joyful and peaceful Easter celebration.
