Osun Renewed Hope Ambassadors Dissociate from Planned Unity Rally, Peace Walk

By Sunday Oguntuyi, Osogbo

The Osun State Secretariat of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors has distanced itself from a planned “Unity Rally and Peace Walk,” stating that it has no knowledge of, or involvement in, the proposed event.

In a statement issued and signed by the Osun State Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, Oluomo Sunday Akere, in Osogbo over the weekend, the group said it was unaware of the organisers behind the programme and does not recognise the group known as the “Renewed Hope Movement,” which is promoting the event.

According to the statement, the attention of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors was drawn to a flyer circulating on social media inviting members of the public to a programme tagged “Unity Rally and Peace Walk for PBAT + Imole.”

“We wish to state clearly that the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, Osun State Secretariat, has no connection whatsoever with this group, its organisers, sponsors, or the proposed programme. The group is not known to us, is not part of our structure, and has no authority to speak for, act on behalf of, or represent the Renewed Hope Ambassadors in Osun State,” the statement said.

The group also cautioned members of the public against being misled by individuals allegedly using the Renewed Hope identity to pursue political interests outside the All Progressives Congress (APC).

“The Renewed Hope agenda is the political and governance vision of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and remains firmly rooted in the APC. It cannot be borrowed, twisted, manipulated, or used as a cover by those whose political interests in Osun State lie outside the APC family,” the statement added.

Reaffirming its loyalty to President Tinubu and the APC, the group declared its support for the party’s leadership in the state, including former governor and Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Alhaji Isiaka Adegboyega Oyetola, as well as the APC governorship candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji.

“We are not and will never be part of any arrangement that seeks to mix genuine support for President Tinubu with the political agenda of the Imole camp or any other opposition tendency in Osun State seeking undeserved recognition,” it stated.

The group argued that support for President Tinubu should not be used as a disguise for activities aimed at conferring legitimacy on political actors working against the APC in the state.

It further maintained that President Tinubu’s preferred governorship candidate for the August 15, 2026 election remains the APC flagbearer, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO), expressing confidence that he would emerge victorious at the polls.

“We will not allow a bunch of confused politicians struggling to stay afloat in their shattered umbrella and sinking ship to deceive the educated and enlightened people of Osun State,” the statement said.

The Renewed Hope Ambassadors therefore dissociated itself entirely from the planned rally and peace walk, urging APC members, supporters of President Tinubu, and the general public to disregard the event.

The group pledged to continue working closely with APC leaders, stakeholders, local government structures, ward coordinators, and other progressive forces to strengthen grassroots mobilisation in support of President Tinubu, Oyebamiji, and other APC candidates ahead of future elections in the state.
