The leadership of the Igbimo Agba (Elders’ Forum) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State has congratulated the party’s re-elected National Secretary, Senator Surajudeen Ajibola Bashiru, describing his emergence as a positive development for the party.

The congratulatory message was contained in a statement issued on Monday in Osogbo by the Chairman of the forum, Engr. Sola Akinwumi.

Akinwumi attributed the success of the recently concluded APC national convention to the political understanding and leadership demonstrated by prominent party leaders, including President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, former Osun State Governor Chief Bisi Akande, and the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola.

“I strongly believe that our son’s re-election will serve as an impetus for him to continue giving his best towards building a stronger and more formidable party under the new leadership,” the statement read.

He urged the newly elected national and zonal officers of the party to prioritise unity and inclusiveness in their leadership approach.

According to him, a united and cohesive party leadership is essential for achieving electoral victories, particularly as the party prepares for the Osun State governorship election scheduled for August 15, 2026.

“I implore all newly elected National and Zonal Officers of our party to bear in mind the indisputable fact that only a united, cohesive and all-inclusive leadership can guarantee electoral success, which remains our utmost desire, beginning with the forthcoming Osun governorship election,” Akinwumi said.

He also wished all the newly elected officers of the party a successful tenure in office.
