Osun 2026 political map firmly favors Adeleke, campaign organisation fires back at Wole Oke

The Osun APC campaign organisation, led by Director General Wole Oke, is clinging to outdated assumptions, as the political landscape for the 2026 Osun State election now firmly favors Governor Ademola Adeleke and his Accord Party, according to the Adeleke Campaign Organisation.

The campaign group issued the statement in response to claims attributed to Wole Oke that the APC could reclaim the state in August, citing Governor Adeleke’s narrow victory margin of 28,000 votes in 2022 and subsequent defections.

Describing these claims as “fantasy detached from reality,” the campaign organisation said the political map across Osun’s nine federal constituencies has shifted decisively since 2022. It predicts that Governor Adeleke will win the upcoming election with a margin exceeding 200,000 votes.

The group also criticised Oke for his anti-party activities during the 2022 polls, arguing that defections from the Accord were offset by mass defections from the APC to Accord, the rejection of defectors by their local constituencies, and Governor Adeleke’s surging popularity across the state.

“The governor’s winning team remains tactically and strategically intact, strengthened by grassroots stakeholders, labour unions, and activist groups across Osun,” the statement read. “Over 90 percent of voting segments, including former APC strongholds like Boripe, are now firmly in Accord’s hands.”

The campaign organisation highlighted the governor’s people-centered five-point agenda and his transparent record of achievements since 2022, contrasting this with the APC’s failure to release a manifesto for the August election.

“From Ijeshaland to Igbominaland, Ifeland to Agunbe, Osogbo to Ede and Iwo, and even Ikire, the people are mobilised to re-elect Governor Adeleke and protect their votes against election malpractice,” the group added.

The organisation also expressed gratitude to President Bola Tinubu for advocating a free and fair election in Osun State. “We commend Mr President for assuring all contestants of a level playing field and for refusing to take sides,” the campaign team concluded.
