The Osun State College of Health Technology, Ilesa has commissioned a modern car wash centre as part of efforts to enhance internally generated revenue and promote entrepreneurship among students.

The project, located within the institution, is designed to support the college’s revenue drive while also providing practical business and vocational experience in line with the entrepreneurship objectives of tertiary education in Nigeria.

Speaking at the commissioning, the Chairman of the Governing Board, Hon. Abayomi Adegoke, commended the college management for initiating the project. He said the initiative reflects a proactive approach to funding and skills development, noting that government support alone may not be sufficient to meet institutional needs.

Adegoke added that the venture demonstrates the college’s commitment to combining academic training with practical skills, positioning it as a well-rounded centre of learning.

The Provost, Dr Lateef Olarewaju Raheem, said the project aligns with the institution’s goal of producing graduates who are both academically competent and self-reliant.

“At the management level, we aim to achieve two things through this project – to improve revenue generation and to build entrepreneurial skills in our students,” he said.

Raheem also acknowledged the support of Ademola Adeleke, Governor of Osun State, for the institution’s development.

In his remarks, the Chairman of OSCO-HEALTH Venture Services, Dr Rasheed Kolawole, said the facility will be operated by a mix of external professionals and students. He explained that participating students will work during their free periods and receive compensation, as part of efforts to equip them with hands-on entrepreneurial experience.
