The Ogun State Environmental Protection Agency (OGEPA) has sealed Bonny Pie Industry, located in Akinbo Township, Ewekoro Local Government Area, over allegations of environmental pollution arising from the discharge of wastewater into a community river.

The action was taken on the directive of the General Manager of OGEPA, Hon. Kehinde Bello, through the agency’s Enforcement Unit, following a petition submitted by the Olu of Akinbo, Oba Rasheed Olamilekan.

According to the petition, the traditional ruler alleged that the company had been discharging untreated wastewater into a river that serves the Akinbo community, thereby posing potential environmental and public health risks to residents.

Following the complaint, OGEPA’s Enforcement Unit visited the facility to assess the situation and verify the allegations.
