Ogun State Head of Service, Mr. Olarenwaju Saka, has urged spouses of government functionaries, particularly the wives of permanent secretaries, to continue fostering peaceful and stable homes to enable their husbands discharge their official responsibilities effectively.
Saka gave the advice when members of the Spouses of Ogun State Government Functionaries Association (SOGSFA), led by the wife of the Head of Service, Mrs. Adenike Saka, paid him a courtesy visit at his office in Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.
He noted that the demanding nature of public service often requires permanent secretaries to spend long hours attending to government business, making it essential for them to have supportive and peaceful home environments.
According to him, a stable home provides the peace of mind needed for public officers to remain focused and deliver efficient service to the state.
Saka also appreciated the association for the visit, describing the large turnout as a demonstration of solidarity and support.
> “This special visit, which witnessed a large turnout of the wives of permanent secretaries, shows that the body of permanent secretaries is solidly behind me, and I will not take this support for granted,” he said.
Speaking on behalf of the association, Mrs. Adenike Saka pledged the group’s continued support for the Head of Service and their husbands in achieving the developmental goals of the state. She also offered prayers for the success of the Head of Service and the continued progress of Ogun State.
In a separate engagement, the Head of Service received the executive members of the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT), Ogun State Wing, led by the State Chairman, Comrade Noah Sewakanu, who visited to congratulate him on his appointment as the 21st Head of Service of the state.
Addressing the union leaders, Saka urged teachers to remain committed to the academic and moral development of students, stressing the need to uphold the culture of excellence, discipline and high educational standards for which Ogun State is known.
He also advised teachers to maintain professionalism through modest dressing, dedication to duty and exemplary conduct, noting that they remain respected role models in their communities.
Earlier, Sewakanu said the visit was to congratulate the Head of Service on his appointment, pray for a successful tenure and wish him greater achievements than his predecessors.
He also used the opportunity to present some of the challenges facing the union for the Head of Service’s attention.
