The Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun will be the Guest Speaker at the September Edition of Business Hallmark’s Public Policy Forum (PPF) scheduled for Thursday, September 8, 2016 at the Chattered Institute of Bankers, Adeola Hopewell, Victoria Island, Lagos, beginning at 10.00 p.m.

Amosun will speak on “Restituting the past for a greater Nigeria”.

A statement by the BH Public Policy Forum Chairman, Prof. George Obiozor, stated that the lecture was organized to discuss the urgent need to restitute the past  for a greater Nigerian that has lost critical functionality with respect to standing up and taking its place among the comity of nations.

“The problems of the country can be traced to serial acts of mis-governance and impunity by people in power over a long time. The culture of visceral inclination to misgovern Nigeria seems to be standard behaviour of the country’s leaders even in the present, and translates to the fact that hardly has any lesson been learnt by our leaders.”

On the choice of Amosun as the guest speaker, he maintained that the Ogun governor has a lot to share with the public on good governance, with his success in the economic and political development of the ‘Gateway’ state.

The Chairman, Board of Directors, Institute for Policy and Economic Development, Dr. Kalu Idika Kalu, will chair the event, while the discussants are the CEO, The Nigerian Stock Exchange, Mr. Oscar Onyema, the Acting Managing Director of Bank of Industry, Mr. Waheed Olagunju, among others.

“Public Policy Forum is a civic outreach programme set up by our Newspaper to provide a platform for Nigerians to articulate their views on diverse socio-political, economic, cultural and even religious issues. Through this medium, we hope to create enhanced social awareness and education for millions of our country men and women”.

Some eminent Nigerians who addressed the Forum in the past include Governor Isa Yuguda of Bauchi State; Dr Joseph Odumodu, Director-General, Standards Organization of Nigeria (SON); Dr Oscar Onyema, Director-General, Nigerian Stock Exchange; Mr Osita Chidoka, Corps-Marshal & Chief Executive, Federal Road Safety Corps, Niger State Governor Muazu Babangida Aliyu, among others.
