The 2026 Ogun State Medical Mission, championed by the Ajose Foundation of the Ogun State First Lady, has intensified its grassroots outreach with the distribution of school bags and reusable menstrual hygiene kits to more than 50 students of the Federal Government Girls College (FGGC), Sagamu.

The outreach, which formed part of activities marking the annual week-long medical mission, also featured free surgical interventions for various ailments and an intensive mentoring session designed to boost the students’ self-esteem, career aspirations and understanding of menstrual health.

Speaking during the visit, the Ogun State First Lady, Mrs. Bamidele Abiodun, said the initiative aligns with the vision of the First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, whose Renewed Hope Initiative focuses on the holistic empowerment of young women across the country.

“We are providing these school bags and sanitary supplies today to let you know that your education, your health and your dignity are non-negotiable priorities. We are building an environment where you can thrive, protected and empowered,” she said.

In her remarks, the Team Lead of the Medical Mission and Founder of KCare Beyond Borders Inc., Dr. Bimpe Adenusi, commended Mrs. Abiodun for her unwavering support, noting that the success of the programme would not have been possible without her commitment.

She urged the students to remain focused on their studies and strive to become future leaders who would contribute meaningfully to national development.

The event also featured an interactive session during which students engaged medical experts on issues relating to hormonal changes, intellectual development and best practices in personal hygiene.

Speaking on behalf of the students, Miss Adebimpe Adefala expressed appreciation to the First Lady and the medical team for the intervention and pledged that the beneficiaries would serve as ambassadors for menstrual health and hygiene in their communities.
