The Acting Executive Secretary of the Ogun State Technical and Vocational Education Board (OGSTVEB), Mojisola Adenowo, has urged principals, teachers and students in the state’s technical colleges to uphold excellence, discipline and dedication as the new academic session begins.

Adenowo gave the charge during a management monitoring exercise across technical colleges and skills acquisition centres in Ogun State, aimed at assessing resumption activities and staff preparedness, as well as strengthening quality assurance in technical education.

She said the exercise was designed to promote effective teaching and learning, improve school administration, and reinforce a culture of academic productivity across all institutions under the board.

According to her, the initiative also serves as a mechanism for evaluating compliance with academic standards, monitoring students’ attendance, and identifying areas requiring intervention.

She called on school principals to provide strong leadership, maintain high academic standards and ensure a conducive environment for learning and skills development.

“Principals are expected to provide leadership that promotes discipline, excellence and a supportive learning environment for both staff and students,” she said.

Adenowo also advised teachers to remain committed to their duties, adopt innovative teaching methods, and inspire students through professionalism and consistency.

She encouraged students to take their studies seriously and fully engage in available technical and vocational training opportunities, noting that such skills are essential for future employability and national development.
