The National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) and the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to drive the digital transformation of the Bureau’s operations, including the digitisation of asset declaration processes for more than five million public servants.
The agreement, signed on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at NASENI headquarters in Idu, Abuja, establishes a framework for collaboration in institutional digital systems, capacity building and technical advisory services.
Speaking during the signing ceremony, the Executive Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of NASENI, Khalil Suleiman Halilu, said the partnership was the outcome of extensive engagements between both agencies. He stressed the importance of creating a sustainable framework that would strengthen cooperation and improve service delivery in line with their respective mandates.
Halilu expressed confidence that the collaboration would leverage technology to enhance operational efficiency and support institutional reforms.
In his remarks, the Chairman of the Code of Conduct Bureau, Dr. Abdullahi Usman Bello, commended NASENI for embracing the partnership, describing it as a major step towards modernising the Bureau’s operations.
According to him, the Bureau currently faces enormous challenges in managing asset declaration forms for over five million public officials nationwide. He noted that digitising the process would improve accessibility, efficiency and overall service delivery, adding that the implementation of the MoU could be a game changer for the agency.
Also speaking, the Director-General of the Budget Office of the Federation, Mr. Tanimu Yakubu, lauded the collaboration, saying it would promote transparency, accountability and good governance.
Yakubu observed that the Code of Conduct Bureau’s constitutional responsibilities require reliable and modern technological systems capable of handling large volumes of data. He expressed confidence that NASENI possesses the technical expertise needed to support the Bureau in achieving its digital transformation objectives.
The ceremony culminated in the formal signing of the Memorandum of Understanding by the Executive Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of NASENI, Khalil Suleiman Halilu, and the Chairman of the Code of Conduct Bureau, Dr. Abdullahi Usman Bello, marking the beginning of a strategic partnership aimed at enhancing efficiency and transparency through technology.
