Manchester City have confirmed the appointment of Enzo Maresca as the club’s new head coach, with the Italian signing a contract that will keep him at the Etihad Stadium until June 2029.

Maresca succeeds Pep Guardiola and is set to begin a new chapter for the Premier League champions following the completion of an agreement with the club.

The 46-year-old is expected to immediately assume responsibility for first-team affairs and will also be actively involved in the club’s transfer planning ahead of the new season.

Maresca is no stranger to Manchester City, having previously served as part of Guardiola’s coaching team during the club’s historic treble-winning campaign.

His return is seen as part of City’s effort to maintain continuity in playing philosophy and tactical structure after Guardiola’s successful era in charge.

Widely regarded for his possession-based style and tactical discipline, Maresca has built a growing reputation as one of Europe’s promising young managers.

Football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed the development on Tuesday via X, stating that the deal had been fully completed.

“Enzo Maresca has already signed a deal as Manchester City’s new manager until June 2029. He will also be fully involved in the club’s transfer strategy,” Romano posted.

Manchester City are expected to officially unveil Maresca in the coming days, alongside details of his coaching staff and preparations for the new campaign.
