Lagos govt seals Alaba market over ‘poor waste disposal

The government of Lagos State Government, has sealed up the popular Alaba International national Market located in Ojo area of the state, citing poor waste disposal practices.

Tunde Wahab, the Commissioner for the Environment and Water Resources, who announced the decision via his X handle on Monday, said “Alaba International Market, Ojo has been sealed up for poor waste disposal practices, failure to pay their waste bills and gross environmental sanitation offences.”

The state government has been sealing markets in the state over what it termed environmental offences.

Some of the markets that were sealed include Ladipo market, Mile 12 market, among others.

Both markets have been reopened.
