Rangers International F.C. of Enugu have been crowned champions of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) for a record-equalling ninth time after securing a crucial 2-1 away victory over Ikorodu City F.C. on Sunday.
The Flying Antelopes sealed the league title by finishing one point ahead of Rivers United F.C., who defeated Katsina United F.C. 3-0 in Port Harcourt on the final day of the season.
Rangers’ triumph takes their total number of NPFL titles to nine, drawing level with Enyimba F.C. as the most successful club in the history of the Nigerian top flight.
