Invest in Osun to consolidate Adeleke’s strides, Timi of Ede, Adeleke-Sanni urge indigenes

The Timi of Edeland, Oba Munirudeen Adesola Lawal Laminisa I, and the Yeyeluwa of Edeland, Chief Mrs Modupeola Adeleke-Sanni, have urged indigenes of Osun State to invest in the state to consolidate ongoing development efforts.

They made the call on Thursday during the house-warming ceremony of Dr Ogundoyin Funmiso, a renowned heart surgeon and owner of Brighten Intensive Care Hospital, Lagos.

It was gathered that Dr Funmiso has proposed a partnership with the Osun State Government to build and equip an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at the Cottage State Hospital, Ede.

Speaking at the event, the Timi congratulated Dr Funmiso for returning to her hometown to invest in the health sector, noting that her services would benefit residents of Ede and surrounding communities while complementing government efforts.

According to the monarch, “Governor Ademola Adeleke has done well in improving infrastructure, which should encourage successful indigenes to return home and invest.

“Almost all towns in the state have benefited from government intervention in road infrastructure.”

He also sought the continued support and prayers of residents for the Adeleke administration beyond 2026.

In her remarks, Chief Adeleke-Sanni commended Dr Funmiso for demonstrating genuine commitment to her roots.

“I always advise successful Osun indigenes across the world that the state needs their expertise and investment for continuous development. Dr Funmiso is a product of those efforts,” she said.

She also appreciated the Timi for providing the royal leadership that has helped attract investors to Ede, adding that the town has witnessed notable industrial and educational development during Oba Lawal’s reign.

Chairman of Ede South Local Government Area, Hon. Lukman Afolabi, congratulated Dr Funmiso on the completion of the project, describing it as a testament to diligence, perseverance and God’s grace.

He assured her of the council’s support in protecting her investments and urged other indigenes of Ede to emulate her by contributing their quota through investment and expertise for the benefit of Ede and Osun State at large.
