Marcus Rashford has fuelled speculation over his future at FC Barcelona after admitting he would love to remain at the club following their La Liga title triumph over arch-rivals Real Madrid CF.

The England international played a key role as Barcelona sealed the Spanish league title with a commanding 2-0 victory over Real Madrid in a dramatic El Clásico encounter at Camp Nou.

Rashford, who joined Barcelona on loan from Manchester United F.C., opened the scoring with a stunning free-kick before the Catalan giants wrapped up victory late in the second half to confirm themselves champions.

Following the triumph, the 28-year-old made it clear that he hopes his stay in Spain will continue beyond the current campaign.

“I don’t know what will happen,” Rashford said in an interview with the BBC. “I’m not a magician, but if I were, I’d stay. I would stay, so we’ll see.”

“I came here to win. I want to win as many things as possible, and this is another title. This team is a great team, and they will only get better in the future. To be part of that would be something special.”

Rashford’s comments are expected to intensify discussions surrounding his long-term future, with Barcelona reportedly considering whether to activate the option to sign him permanently this summer.

Reports in Spain suggest the Catalan club have the option to complete a €30 million deal but are hoping to negotiate a lower fee with Manchester United.

The forward’s resurgence in Spain has become one of the season’s biggest football stories after a difficult final period at Old Trafford where his form and confidence came under increasing scrutiny.

Since arriving in Barcelona, however, Rashford has rediscovered his sharpness and attacking confidence, becoming a crucial figure in Hansi Flick’s title-winning side.

Sources close to the player have described his time in Spain as a period of personal and professional rediscovery, with the calmer environment away from English football helping him regain focus and enjoyment of the game.

Barcelona supporters quickly embraced the England star after a series of influential performances in crucial matches throughout the campaign.

His decisive contribution in El Clásico further strengthened his connection with the club’s supporters as chants of his name echoed around Camp Nou during the title celebrations.

Despite the importance of his free-kick opener against Real Madrid, Rashford admitted after the match that he had not initially planned to shoot.

“I didn’t intend to shoot,” he explained. “When I placed the ball, I didn’t see the right angle. I actually intended to send in a cross because I didn’t feel confident it would go in.”

“But everyone around me was shouting at me to shoot, and that raised my enthusiasm a bit. In the end, it became a beautiful goal.”

Barcelona dominated large portions of the match against Real Madrid, pressing aggressively from the opening stages and controlling possession in front of a passionate home crowd fully aware that victory would secure the league title.

Rashford’s opener gave the hosts early momentum before Barcelona’s disciplined defensive display frustrated Real Madrid’s attacking players throughout the contest.

The champions eventually sealed victory late in the second half following a rapid counterattack that exposed Madrid’s defence and sparked wild celebrations inside Camp Nou.

When the final whistle sounded, Barcelona players and supporters celebrated a victory that not only secured the La Liga title but also reinforced their superiority over their fiercest rivals.

For Real Madrid, the defeat marked a painful conclusion to their title challenge and intensified questions over the club’s rebuilding plans ahead of next season.

For Rashford, however, the night represented another significant chapter in his remarkable revival.

Once facing uncertainty over his future at Manchester United, the England international has now emerged as one of Barcelona’s most important attacking players and a fan favourite during a memorable title-winning campaign.
